Janus is the most battle-tested open-source WebRTC server with 10+ years of production deployments. It’s lightweight, modular (plugin-based), and gives us full control over media routing, recording, and codec negotiation. We’ve built custom Janus plugins for features like AI transcription, smart layouts, and multi-tenant support. Alternatives like Mediasoup and LiveKit are newer; Janus has the production track record and community that enterprise clients require.

Yes. Vatra is designed to be deployed on your infrastructure — AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-premises servers.
